Wishes you a Happy New Year!

Grateful
We are forever thankful for the generous gift of time provided by:
Robin Lemo, art teacher at South Miami Senior High School. Robin meets with Lapoleon to help him improve his drawing skills so that one day he may attend an art school to study fashion design. Robin has also gotten a sewing machine for Lapoleon who previously designs and sews his spectacular vests by hand.

Lapoleon, a 2013 graduate of Hollywood Hills High School, is an amazing young designer, who despite hardship, was the captain of his football team, has become an outspoken advocate against bullying before the Broward School Board, was invited to NY to visit the Michael Kors company, and currently works full time at a call center to support himself and his art. Once you meet Lapoleon you will see why we want to help him make his artistic dreams come true.

Debbie Hoffman, wordsmith extraordinaire, for editing our website and rack card. Her focus was essential for two all-over-the-place-right brain dominant-former art teachers!

Sara Reynolds, energetic, not-for-profit dreamer who has graciously consented to serve as the chairperson of the  Volunteer Board.

We are forever thankful
for the generous donations from:
Traeger Brothers & Associates
Gigi Jehudy
Carol Roisman
Eric Polin

Spotlight

Amparo Bacallao
Ampi is one busy person. She is a photographer with a passion for fashion, she works at a design firm in Miami's Design District, she attends Miami Dade College, she is a Fund 4 Design & Art Education Isaiah Fund recipient, and she finds time to serve as Team Leader for the F4DAE Student Volunteer Board. Ampi graciously awarded the first Amazing Sketchbook Awards at the art show when the adults were unable to attend. Please contact us if you would like to assist Ampi in her dream to accept her scholarship toa prestigious NY art college.

Anticipation

Looking forward to setting a date to team up with Art Cares for Kids at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Children's Oncological unit. Our Student Volunteers are anxious to share their love of art with kids who could use a little artistic distraction. Plans are in the works to design a permanent mural for the facility. Stay tuned. Thank you to Julie Sierra and Liz Portuondo for getting us in the loop.

Looking forward to organizing the Volunteer Board for the F4DAE with Sara Reynolds.
